Yoshii Hotori by Native

Project details

Native based their figure of Yoshii Hotori off an original illustration by the artist abec who’s unbeknownst to me, while a more familiar face turned up on the sculpting side in Kawanishi Ken who shaped the entire lineup of the animated versions from Black Rock Shooter released by Good Smile Company.
Staying mostly true to abec’s illustration; which is also included on a printed card with the figure.

Native are not only known for their dedication to naked skin, they also make rather interesting packaging for their products.
Deconstructing the box reveals not only a mundane base but also a properly scaled gymnastics plinth and a brown clipboard so Hotori may check who’s attending. A very limited knowledge of kanji makes me guess that this character is, having quickly glanced at her red brassard that’s pinned on her left arm, responsible for a gym class in some way or another.

Technically speaking there are few notable flaws, there were some minor blotches on the plinth and one color mishap on the jacket; both not visible by the human eye unless you’re longing for a restraining order. The details put into this figure are a treat to behold, the wrinkles on the clothes and sneaker soles to name a few.

Native, who basically are Max Factory after dark have done a great job with this figure which oozes high quality as you’ve come to expect from their previous work. It’s not perfect, but for a figure of this kind of character it’s not far from.

“Let’s not beat around the non-existent bush” what?! was that irony ;D

Hotori looks really nice here, the face which is combined with a cute twintail hairstyle turned out great and it’s good to see that Native didn’t ignore her aroused blushed cheeks. I like the sporty look of her clothes, jacket, shirt and spats look top notch and work very well together with the naked skin.

In the figure adaption she looks slightly more scared than on the illustration, where she appears more positively excited about the things that might happen next. Well, there is a bit space for interpretation ^^ Anyway, she has such a cute and innocent(at least it seems so) appearance ♡.

It’s a bit sad that I didn’t order her because of the detailed, revealing *in your face* backside. Too bad, since I really like the style and look of this figure. But so far I have the no exposed beaver rule *damn*

        ahahaha I see XD

Well, the expressions are only slightly different from the illustrations and I think both figures look great like that.
Only Sonico could have blushed a bit more, like Hotori does.

Yeah you’re right and Im still figthing with myself cause Hotori looks so cute in her dress, maybe I can come up with an idea to cover her exposed private parts, the front is ok for me ^^

The more I see Native figures lately the more I want one. Essentially the only things keeping me from getting one are the prices and the fact that I really can’t display them at home.

It seems Native is stepping up with their figures, with every new release they seem to look better and better. With Hotori though, surprisingly enough what I can’t get enough of is her face, it just looks so vulnerable, so appealing.
